Fashion Trend Report: Bold Prints

Various high fashion and luxury fashion brands are pushing a lot of color prints this season. From scarves to button-down shirts and full-on one pieces, you can expect to be an attraction if you want to pull off this trend.

Look for large floral prints for blouses/one-pieces and even on your pants. Keeping it toned down? Nonsense. Go big or go home by clashing prints. Big floral prints on your cigarette pants? Pair it with a blouse with small polkadots. It’s magic. Feels so wrong looks so right.

How about for accessories? Afraid to take the risk and wrap your head in a print scarf? tie it around your purse. You don’t lose the style that way and you keep it subdued and elegant.

Freida Pinto Works Yellow.
It’s that time of the year - Cannes red carpet time AND also time to get a tan. Yellow is famous as a colour that’s hard to pull off. With a high cut slit and a half-peplum at the waist, Frieda pulls off this pastel yellow ensemble nicely. It compliments her darker skin tone; you must remember that colours work with as your “second-skin”…make sure it always compliments your skin tone.

It’s bikini season!
Though two piece bikinis still rule & are considered the sexiest beach wear by most, why not try out a fashionable swimsuit like this one? I was told numerous times by my guy friends that a bit more coverage leaves more room for imagination ;) There you go ladies. Tip of the day.

The retro barbie doll look in mint green.
Here’s what makes this look retro. The length of the sleeves (3/4 no longer no less), the cut of the dress (body conscious), the round collar (classic) and the quaint accessories (necklace that frames the collar nicely & a matching mini clutch with a gold chain).

Taken from our Pinterest account (The Fashion Spread), we love the look of pastels on ladylike coats, jackets and dresses this season.
All inspired by the Louis Vuitton SS 2012 show. We are seeing lasercut flowers (amongst other shapes) on clothing and accessories alike. Of course Tangerine Orange, as well as orange in all shades, are hit colours. In fact, Tangerine Orange was named Colour of the Year by Pantone.
We will definitely have more posts covering how to wear this outstanding colour from head to toe!

We love pastel and seafoam green.

This season it’s about pastel colours and seafoam green is amongst the hottest of colours to choose from. This whole shoot focuses on body con shapes and cuts. A key trend is midriff baring tops (which means a whole lotta time at the gym) - you can see this here as well - with a print top and high waist skirt.

Model Margaryta Senchylo looks like a doll in front of Andoni & Arantxa’s lensesin the April 28th edition of Yo Dona. Margaryta wears feminine designs of Jil Sander, Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana in soft shades of blue and neutral. Seductive eyelashes and lush curls add feminine and seductive allure.

Anna Sui FW12: A Mystical Tour

Looking through the latest FW collection from Anna Sui, she takes me into various color palettes, with designs using clashing yet complimentary patterns that turn the models into mystical fairies.

Of course, she will always find a way to integrate the butterfly into her designs, and here we see a model in the photoset wearing a blue one-piece delicately dotted with silver spreading her wings as she drifts down the runway.

Other highlights would be the amazing faux fur jacket in a cream blush colour. As always, Sui brings her game when it comes to patterned tights - I have a few pairs and they are an elegant statement and so comfortable.

This dress is all sorts of amazing - the fit, the print, the colours they used (complimentary colours like orange and blue), the pattern (block orange vs. dotted blue) and the detailing in the shoulder (bold but with ruffles!).
The hair to try right now is dyed tips of your hair. Electric blue here looks amazing but my one thing is that the color doesn’t stay well - you will need to consult an awesome color stylist to help maintain the color.
